Policies and Procedures

Duties

  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures.

  • Ability to work under pressure. Working hours are subject to normal working hours during week, including Saturday and Sunday works. 1 weekend off per month.

  • Will be required to do work within your abilities from time to time that is outside the Job Description as detailed above.

  • Ensure adherence to Safety regulations and standards to ensure that all site operations are carried out in accordance with the prescribed safety regulations and standards and the application of the highest safety standards at all times.

  • Fibre networking splicing: 24 – 48 core.

  • Use of all related hand power tools.

  • Configuration of switches: IP Address and Host Name (Huawei Products).

  • Provide detail to NTT Network team and ensure switches are added to monitoring systems.

  • Installation of Cabinets and all related switching required: not limited to installation and connections.

  • OTDR testing, Light Loss testing, Continuity Testing, End-to-End Verification, Fibre Trace Verification.

  • Switch power verification, network Communication testing, Uplink Verification, Patch panel Verification and Cabinet Inspection.

  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and identify electrical symbols on said drawings.

  • Installation, assembly and wiring of fibre cables and modules.

  • Knowledge of practical application of statuary laws, codes and regulations.

  • Provides access for future maintenance and avoid hazardous and unreliable wiring.

  • Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer and oscilloscope.

  • Provides access for future maintenance and avoid hazardous and unreliable wiring.

  • Immediately report to Contract Management any factor which is adversely affecting the contract if he himself cannot take corrective action.

  • Monitor work in progress and manage deviations to ensure compliance with agreed plans and budgets.

  • Co-ordination and management of all site activities necessary to achieve the program dates to the specified standards.


Academic Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge

  • Qualified as an Artisan.

  • Fibre Splicing Certificate.

  • Supervisory Skills.

  • Networking configuration – Huawei Products.

  • 3–5 Years experience in Construction industry.

  • 3–5 Years Fibre and Networking.

  • A working and proven knowledge of the Construction industry with demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and keep the team engaged.


Personal Qualities / Additional Requirements / Qualities

  • Must be capable of working in Underground mining and confined areas.

  • Must apply specific materials and equipment according to zone requirements and client specifications.

  • All testing to be performed to ensure the safety of the individual and area whilst performing tasks.

  • Must be in possession of own tools as per company minimum requirements.
